Pros & Cons

  • The company values its great culture in the office and will hire according to culture fit. People are very open and transparent, happy to help you personally with growth no matter the level. Protiviti has a fairly flat hierarchy which means it's easy to communicate with upper levels.
  • Energetic and friendly colleagues. Variation of work and every day is different.
  • The people are very welcoming and supportive. Sometimes the work itself can be a bit dull, however, the people that you get to work with making it much more enjoyable. Also, the support and encouragement by management to grow in your career.
  • A very good group of people to work with. Protiviti provides a culture that focuses on its people and the betterment of its employees through social events, funding two professional certificates, advocating travel to meet with different clients and work on varying projects and also providing learning program opportunities (nationally and internationally). The management team is very good in ensuring company policies are transparent and communicated efficiently across the rest of the team.
  • The people, the culture and the company's willingness to support additional study. There are a lot of opportunities to learn if you're willing to put in the time and are genuinely interested in gaining new skills.
  • You may not always be put on projects in your relevant stream e.g. Internal Audit or Risk and Compliance or Consulting. Often resources are shared between streams but this is a great way to get exposure to many different work types and accounts. You wouldn't get this kind of exposure so easily in a big four company.
  • Sometimes there may be a lack of feedback, but you have to ask directly and your engagement manager will be happy to sit down with you and provide you feedback with how you're doing. The salary is a little low compared to other graduate salaries (across the private and public sector) - however, the company does provide a timeline with the expected number of years of experience in a position before a promotion. Despite the low salary, there is a wide range of benefits and bonus schemes.
  • There are no formal rotations so my graduate year was limited to working with 2 clients/projects.
