Pros & Cons

  • The flexibility with where you can work, friendliness of colleagues and the flat structure.
  • The people and the culture are great. The leadership team are approachable. The culture is quite flat. On the whole, a very easy workplace to join and become a part of quickly.
  • My co-workers have been great. Senior staff are willing to teach and help upskill me. The culture is great as I personally find a nice balance of personal/ professional.
  • The support across levels from graduate to managing director, everyone is very approachable and always happy to help and support. There is also a high focus on a positive work environment and work culture.
  • Nice people, understanding of other commitments.
  • Having to work with tight budgets and the expectation to be on 100% of the time.
  • Constant change to work schedule and having no consistent manager to learn from. The advisory system does not work if your advisor is disinterested in being one and doesn't know how to either.
  • The global nature of the company makes it difficult to participate in events and projects run in other countries. Eg. Sustainability Club events run in an American timezone - this is not the company’s fault, but rather the price of living in Australia
  • content of job is not very interesting. long times without interesting work.
  • High turnover rate. A large amount of people have left in the short amount of time I have been here.

Clear pathways for promotion and tenure criteria. Documentation is provided on what is expected at each level and everyone is assigned a career mentor to help you achieve your professional goals. There is also training at each level eg. the Consulting challenge. An online portal is the basis for giving and receiving feedback which helps support this.

Fantastic, Real focus on making sure everyone is included and supported in whatever aspect. Hierarchy in the company is clear with different titles, but in terms of socialising, cooperation and teamwork, there is no hierarchy and everyone is approachable and supportive.

So many DEI groups that are incredibly supportive, it's amazing. These groups are on an office, national and global scale

I am a consultant 1, which means I have been with the company for nearly 2 years. I started as a grad. My day-to-day responsibilities change depending on what project I am on and what hours I am rostered. At the moment, I am in the office a few days a week and the rest are WFH. I spend 1-2 days on a client site and the rest in the office. Responsibilities include creating client deliverables, attending meetings and taking minutes, supporting business development work, and project work such as testing and mapping.

Management
The managers have been great mentors thus far. Due to the culture, I am not afraid to approach any of the managers to ask questions. Managers have been more than happy to help when I have reached out. Feedback on all projects has been extremely helpful in improving my weaknesses.

The dress code is anything from business casual to professional depending on the client requirements and meetings you have that day. The office plan is open floor, with great views of the city and has good facilities eg. kitchen, table tennis and monitors

The individual interviews were great as well as the group interviews. The last interview with two directors was intimidating but overall a good experience.

If you have the relevant background, most things are common knowledge. The specified training was much more useful than the generic mandatory training.

Very flexible. It is a hybrid work environment so half WFH and half in the office. However this depends on client site requirements and what your team prefers. It is very much a trusting environment and do what is best for the team, yourself and the client - just ensure this is communicated.
