Our core business is comprised of providing engineering and project management services across the following key business areas: 

  • Maritime: Naval combat system design, development and support activities for Australian and international Navies.

  • Underwater: Design, development and support activities for in-service and new generation submarines and underwater vehicles.

  • Land: Deployable health, ground-based air defence, communications and combat weapon solutions for land forces.

  • Civil Solutions: Security integration design, development and project delivery, as well as cybersecurity, air traffic management and mixed reality solutions across a broad industry base.

The Graduate Program

As a Saab Graduate, you will work alongside experienced engineers, to deliver world-leading and innovative projects.

Saab’s Graduate Program is a two-year program, which offers you the opportunity to work and across two or three teams through structured rotations across the business. These rotations are individually tailored to your current skills and developmental needs, business requirements and individual preferences.

Following the successful completion of the program, you will be placed into a permanent position within the business so that you can continue the growth of your exciting new career.

Our 2022 program will be comprised of the following graduate roles;

  • Software Engineering within our 9LV Combat Management System, Submarine Control & Monitoring System (ISCMMs) and OneView Security product teams
  • Hardware Engineering focusing on electrical/electronic and mechanical/mechatronic physical solutions for our 9LV Combat Management System, Submarine Control & Monitoring System (ISCMMs) and innovative OneView security systems
  • Combat System Engineering design across the Royal Australian Navy’s surface fleet
  • Modelling & Analysis of Naval Combat System solutions
  • Integrated Logistics Support Engineering of Naval Combat System solutions

What support will you receive?

In addition to the day-to-day support you will receive from your supervisors and team, you will also be provided with trained and experienced mentors from within the business and access to the Saab Australia Graduate School. The Saab Australia Graduate School comprises regular lessons that cover the overarching topics such as knowing your personal brand, developing your business acumen and advancing your technical skills. Our graduates are also provided with the opportunity to participate in professional development and mentoring activities including; the Re-Engineering Foundation Subs in Schools Program, Australia-wide Careers Fairs and Events, as well as the mentoring of future Saab graduates.
