7.4 rating for Training, based on 23 reviews
Please describe the training programmes at your company and tell us what skills you've picked up.
Formal induction sessions were conducted very early on, and all at once. While a lot of important information was conveyed, I fear I have forgotten most of it by now. Formal grad school programs have been good. Departmental introductions are brilliant, while externally-run soft skills workshops have varied in quality. Informal training has been exceptional. My team are incredibly supportive and open. I couldn't have asked for better mentors from whom to learn in my first year out of university.

Training workshops grant understanding but not much practical experience. Had an induction that taught the basics of what i'll be doing but most experience is just from doing the actual work.

I've learnt a bit more about hospitals as well as complications that can come with deployable hospitals, validation and verification, design compliance as well as using new organisational software (e.g. IFS, JIRA). I've also improved my communication and organisational skills.

The grad program has had some cool and unique training sessions, however I feel like this will drop off significantly after the grad program is finished.

Graduates have tailored training and then training within their business unit. I have learned lots regarding project costing, leadership & communication and the use of standards across different areas of mechanical engineering

The scope was large to cover, but I think more could be done to boil things down so that the leaner gets a better understanding of the work processes.

Informally I have learnt a wide range of electrical/engineering processes this year. There could possibly be more formal opportunities for training

In the graduate program, we have soft skills trainings with workshops that can be a hit or miss. The graduate program also has workshops with different divisions to give graduates a wider understanding of the business as a whole.

So far, I'm getting access to the programs i need to grow that exist outside of the set company graduate training, as long as I present a business case as to why, which I think is fair. The graduate training provided isn't always directed at mature workers which I understand as majority are school, uni, graduate role. Would be nice to opt out of some of the 3rd party supplied once in that regard.

Informal training has been quite good in my current position as I have been closely mentored since I began. The formal training has been useful however I haven't participated in much as there isn't a lot of training that is relevant to my current position. The induction process could include better training for programs that the company uses.

A comprehensive induction program that included the development of fictitious exercises inline with Saab software engineering processes.
