The Ubisoft Story 

Ubisoft Entertainment SA is a French video game company with development studios across the world while headquartered in Saint-Mande, France. As far as the origin of Ubisoft is concerned, it was founded in 1986 by five brothers - Christian, Claude, Gerard, Michel, and Yves. Earlier the company was named UbiSoft Entertainment S.A. and the name was selected to represent ‘ubiquitous’ software. It operated out of offices in Paris and later moved to Creteil in 1986. 

UbiSoft had about 6 developers working from the chateau by 1988 and in 1996, it began to gain global attention. It listed its initial public offering in 1996 and raised more than USD 80 million in funds. The company used this fund to expand its reach and established worldwide studios in Shanghai (1996), Annecy (1996), Montreal (1997), and Milan (1998). 

In 2003, the company announced that it would change its name to Ubisoft and also came up with a new logo known as ‘the swirl’. It continued to grow in the coming years and since 2018, its studios have focused on some franchises. Today, it is one of the most popular video game companies with many subsidiaries and employees working for the company.
