Ben Ung

I collaborate with other graduates, working on designing new equipment to satisfy our customer's demands. We exchange ideas about our design and split tasks among each other, ensuring the project meets its scheduled deadline.

6.00 AM

It’s the start of the day! I wake up to my alarm in the morning and get ready for work. Prior to leaving the house, I grab my pre-made lunch from the fridge and make my way to the office. It’s never a dull day working at Visy.

7.00 AM

I arrive at the office and make myself a coffee and breakfast before planning my to-do list for the day and replying to overnight emails.

7.45 AM

I contact managers from other sites to obtain an in-depth analysis on the performance of their machines in preparation for my reports. These reports are presented at my meetings with the managers where we create an action plan that tackles any issues that are identified

One of the projects that I am involved in is Inventory Management. I have regular catch ups with my project team planning the project while making sure we meet our deadlines. I conduct on-site preparation by cataloguing all raw materials and spare parts we used.

It is necessary to replace old machines when they reach their life expectancy. I compare quotations from different suppliers to find the most cost-effective solution to suit our needs.

The machines may occasionally encounter mechanical or electrical issues.. I walk over to the factory floor and identify ways to improve the process and productivity.

3.00 PM

Time for me to head home. Traffic is still smooth sailing and I arrive home to start cooking dinner. Tonight’s menu is Malaysian fish curry with rice.

6.00 PM

Football is a big part of my life. I arrive at the stadium for training and our coach runs through some shooting and defensive drills that we will look to implement in our next game.

9.00 PM

Training is over and I am exhausted. I have my dinner I made earlier and wind down by watching Netflix before heading to bed.
